| Mabanzi was first formed in 2002 by a fortuitous set of circumstances bringing the only three people on Oahu who played Shona music together at a block party. Shortly after Chris Zorn moved to Oahu from Colorado where he had been teaching Shona marimba music for the last decade. Thus the first Shona marimba group in the islands was born. That group was called Matanzima and performed around the island. In 2003 the group changed personnel and became Mabanzi Marimba. Today Mabanzi has 12 members including the addition of vocals, guitar, bass and drums into the mix. Info request |

| The Hot Club of Hulaville is a Honolulu quintet playing the very best in Continental and French Gypsy Jazz. Although hardly a retro band, it does hark back to the stylings of the Hot Club of France with Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli. The group elegantly weaves its way from the Great American Songbook to more modern pieces that are favorites of listeners of all ages. The Hot Club of Hulaville is performing both complex instrumental and vocal selections to rave reviews and its distinctive sound is being hailed as something quite new and refreshing in Honolulu. | As a performer, Jeff Peterson has had the honor to work with a wide range of artists and groups including Eric Clapton, slack key guitarists Ledward Kaapana, James Galway, Michael Feinstein, the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, jazz bassist Rufus Reid, shakuhachi master Riley Lee, soprano Dana Hanchard, and with many other artists in the fields of Hawaiian, classical, and jazz music. He has three recordings on Hula Records International with Riley Lee and also released an acclaimed solo guitar recording featuring his slack key artistry. Wayne Harada from the Honolulu Advertiser reacted to hearing the CD by writing: "Add the Peterson name to the top 10 list of slack key giants". Info request

| The ukulele is the best-known Hawaiian instrument. In the 1950's and 60's all the bands had ukulele players. Today there is a renaissance of sorts, thanks to the popularity of the new generation of ukulele players incluencing the young people of Hawaii to pick up and learn to play. Herb Ohta Jr. is just one breed of ukulele player. As a teacher, composer, recording artist, entertainer, and producer, Herb Ohta Jr. solidly establishes himself in the company of musicians who promote our Hawaiian instrument in the music landscape today. It is Herb's goal to share the beauty of Hawaii's music, its culture, and the ukulele to people all over the world. | Raiatea Mokihana Helm made history in 2006 as Hawai'i's first solo female vocalist ever to receive a Grammy Nomination for her sophomore CD "Sweet and Lovely." At 21 years old, she was one of the youngest performers to attend the 48th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California. It was a remarkable achievement when you consider that she comes from the tiny island of Moloka'i, Hawai'i, a mere wisp of volcanic land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
With her performing and recording career now entering her seventh year, Raiatea has firmly established her reputation as Hawai'i's premier chanteuse. | Hoku Zuttermeister (Kane'ohe, Hawaii), comes from a Hawaiian family dynasty that encompasses both the hula and music communities, including songwriter Kau'i Zuttermeister and Kumu Hula Noe Zuttermeister.
Hoku takes the songs of his favorite composers (Frank kawaikapuaokalani Hewett, Kawena Puku'i and Maddy Lam, among others, to heart and reinterprets them with his own style and has created a signature sound that will become instantly recovnizable to anyone willing to spend a moment with his music. Hoku's voice is deep and resonating, yet when he switches to the crystal-clear highs of falsetto, he shows enormous vocal range that he has worked to hard at perfecting. | At just 17 years of age, Taimane Tauiliili Bobby Gardner had already carved out her place as an ukulele virtuoso. Since winning her first ukulele competition at the age of six, Gardner has developed her talents into a successful career that has taken her around the world. Proudly representing her Samoan heritage in her name (Taimane means diamond in the Samoan language), this High School Senior at the Honolulu Waldorf School of the Arts has been a professional almost all of her life. At the age of 14, she became a featured performer with the late Don Ho at his legendary show at the Waikiki BeachComber Hotel. Among other highlights of her blossoming career are: performing at the Trump Casino in Palm Springs, performing on "Mezamashi TV" (Japan's number one morning TV show), recording songs for "The Ride," a locally-made movie about Duke Kahanamoku, and being voted as 'Olelo Television's "Next Rising Star."
